Before the Music Dies

OK.

So before I have managed to watch the first film I downloaded, which I was so excited about, I downloaded a second one from the same site. "Before the Music Dies" is a documentary about the music business today in Amrica and is a fantastic watch.

This one I will heartily recommend to one and all! Has been referred to as "the most important film a music fan will ever see.". Not sure if I'm going quite that far. We have to factor in Spinal Tap, but certainly up there.

Trailer is on youtube....

....and main film itslef is available of the bside website at:-

Malinky

Hmmmm.....

Well that movie clip overlaps the links to the right SO will just have to add another post, to sort things out :-)

SO.....

Am listening to a Malinky album Last Leaves, from 2000, being Karine Polwarts old band. Is good, V, if occasionally a bit too heedrum hoddrum. My two fave tracks being a version of "The Bonny Lass o Fyvie" and one of her own songs "Whaur do ye lie".

A wee youtube link for you an all. Song I first heard Christie Moore do.

Ireland - Part III

So.

I have somewhat failed to complete this comprehensive blog. So for my sake rather than anyone elses, the trip proceeded as follows:-

Mon June 25th a wee drive round the Antrim coast out of Belfast, round the antrim glens of same, culminating in an evening spent in a wee B&B in Ballintoy, the Ballintoy House.

Tues 26th, a drive round the Carrick a Rede rope bridge and the Giant's Causeway, then off for a night in Portrush stayin in the Abercorn Guesthouse. Walk the dog into the town, chip shop tea on the way, then an evenin spent in the Harnour Bar, then back to the B&B.

Wed 27th we're off to Donnegal on a wee ferry, and up to the Inishowen peninsula, and a stay at Malin head, and a night in the Druim Doo (www.druimdoo.com) B&B where owners Terry and Trevor loved dogs, max loved them and they REALLY wanted to keep 'im. Their dog was not so sure.

Thurs 28th down to to Glenties, wee drive round Portnoo and..... , and a nice hotel, the Highland Hotel, and a what can be best described as ugly lock in.

Fri 29th hungover drive back to Belfast via Derry, culminating in Dinner with the Maxwells and their eldest daughter Janice and partner Tony.

Sat 30th back to the mother country, and a fancy dress party.

Not interesting I know but seeing started had to finish.
